Good Yule to my FAOL friends
Today is Yule, the winter solstice, the rebirth of the sun, a time of renewed hope. The days will start to grow longer, warmer weather will return.
So decorate a tree, hang some mistletoe, burn a Yule log or bonfire tonight to celebrate the day.
Just as it's been done for thousands of years.

Yes, and the battle of the Oak King and Holly King has happened and the Oak King won. The Holly King will have to gather his strength to fight again and I full well expect that the Holly King will win that battle in June. The cycle of birth and death and rebirth told in this and other pre-christian stories lives on in the Yule time spirit.
We have a Yule log that we place candles in during this season. After the season we set the log aside and burn it in our fireplace next year, each yule log warming the log for the next year and so on.
