Cool fly. Change colors/sizes to suit your needs.

    hook - Dai Riki 280 #12
    thread - MFC 8/0 brown
    underbody - opalescent mylar
body - midge body tubing tan
    mid-body hackle - CDC dun
    bead - 7/64" black tungsten
thorax - Ice Dub UV brown
    hackle - partridge

    Part 1

mash barb, slide on bead; start thread, tie in mylar, wrap to bend, then tie in tubing

wrap mylar forward to 3/4 mark, tie off/trim

    wrap tubing forward; tie off/trim

tie in CDC by tip; take a few wraps, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2

slide bead back against body and re-start thread

wrap partridge, tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Last time I'll be at the vise for a while; hitting the road for 3 weeks thru the Rockies and desert Southwest. Later.

I love the tungsten bead to take it deep! Nice looking fish killer!

that is very cool, i usually tie the partridge behind the bead, I like this.
the body tubing is very neat stuff, I usually have thread as the underbody, and the color of the thread really changes the color, putting mylar under has to make it attractive, and probably would not change the color of the tubing. What other materials would one use as an underbody for body tubing (I use UTC Vinyl rib)?

The original recipe I saw called for a white thread underbody, which would probably preserve the color of the tubing. Krystal Flash would create a neat effect, too.
