    Default Olfactory Triggers

    Thanks Chris,
You had me right there on the river with you. My local triggers are; the crisp damp smell of cedars on the St Joe in the early morning, mingled with fresh coffee, bacon, and hot cakes with maple syrup. If it weren't for time and distance, I'd be there now. No wonder I like this sport so much.

    Hey Joe, ...

Hot cakes 'n syrup ... Yup, ... I gotta add that to the list of groceries !!

Reminds me of Boy's Club pancake breakfasts at the local hockey arena saturday mornings.

Nice story Chris. My triggers are the wood smoke, wet balsam, the smell of a fresh dew and the smell of hot coffee.

I am olifactorily challenged and will never smell the smell of Stripers in the salt marsh or any of those mroe subtle smells, but the triggers above are strong and do it for me.

When I go up into the attic to get something and pass by the trunk with the camping gear I find the smell coming out of that trunk will stop me cold and bring me on a trip down memory lane that is as vivid as anything else I can remember.

    thanks for a nice story.
