Default Just got back from some time on the water

I am exhausted in a good way, telephones turned off and will be resting my head shortly. I didn't land anything but I did hook up twice. First one I was not paying attention as I fished a bead head green weenie. Still managed to hook up but lost the hook set after about a minute of fighting. Muddy water and the fish never came to surface.

Next one to take the green weenie brought it up to the surface and sent it zinging past my head. Nice big rainbow in a stocked lake. All the time I was being watched from about 75 yards away. Bald Eagle sitting up in an oak tree just pretty as you please.

The water was high and chocolate colored, I lost both fish, it was raining at times hard and I did not care. It was so good just to get out on the water for a few hours. That eagle was gorgeous but of course I had thought I will just leave the camera in the car this time. Duh!

Now I am going to take a nap and dream the dreams of a happy fly fisherman.

    God Bless all,
    Eric

Nice report, very glad to see you getting some time on the water.

I think the eagle was critiquing your hook or talon setting technique.

Good on you Eric. Glad to hear you got out for a while. I'll be going out for the first time this year on Friday, circumstances permitting.

    That's awesome, Eric.

    Nighthawk,

Your way ahead of me already! Still haven't gotten the Pa. license yet! Glad to hear your getting some action. That green weenie sure is popular in Pa. Haven't tried the bead head version yet though.

    Best regards, Dave S.
