    "There's no need to learn to cast farther than 30'. All the trout I catch are within that distance." Well, what if the wind is blowing right in your face. Learning to cast farther helps one adjust to conditions and gets your fly to turn over for a proper presentation.

    an even bigger myth: anything about Bass tournaments (or stereotypical "bass fishing") can be compared to fly fishing... of any type... it is all the same.

    Yeah...I mean...you're only using a hook, line, and rod, with some sort of lure, to induce a fish into biting, and thus becoming hooked, then reeling that fish in...

    ...no similarity.
