Okay, Normand, you are the man, I went and tied a 24 with the .5mm and it is beautiful. I then tied a #26, but I think that is max. The smaller hooks are subject to bend when pulling the stretch tubing. However, up to #26 required very little stretching.
I can post pictures if any one wants to see. Simple pupas is all I tied. In gray...but could be a nice maggot imitation.

I'm in a continuing monthly swap, and my flies for December disappeared in the mail, so I just got through tying a replacement set of 1 dozen Bunny Leeches to mail tomorrow.
.
For next month's swap, I have agreed to tie 1 dozen Gotchas. I will start on these soon.
For my personal use, crappie season will be upon us in a few weeks, so I plan to stock up on Crappie Candies, small Olive and White Clousers, streamers, and some micro Beadhead Wooley Buggers in white and chartreuse.
i started to tie something then forgot what it was i was going to tie...this is as far as i got!!

I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.
