Yes you read that right, I actually built myself a new toy, FINALLY!

Blank is a St Croix 907-4 new Burgundy series fast action. Did the grip&butt to my taste with exotic cork/brown burl/rubberized/trim of black foam, and just love the layout (of course because its mine lol). BUL5 Nickle silver, wood seat is from a piece I got from Rob at the Burl source, its a copper colored Box Elder Burl, Classic twist red/blk main and gold trim inner and outer trim wraps, also a FUJI full Titanium frame Silicone Carbide Insert guide. I was casting 7" long streamers with this rod 2 days ago and love it!!

Nice work Steve. That reel seat turned out nice. From the photo it looks like that piece of wood has some good "depth"...I bet it looks even better in person. I dig that burgandy colored blank as well. I may have to pick up one of those blanks myself. I too like throwing the big streamers for our Michigan browns...hitting the Ausable tomorrow despite the forecast of snow. I could stand a little more backbone than my current set-up has though.
