if you have a line 7dt or an 8wf try it and see how it casts. The new models in that length are 7/8 line.

I have Berkley Cherry Wood Fiberglass rod 7/8weight, it is over 15 - 20years old, that I love, broke my casting wrist, had to give it to my son, should see him cast with that thing it is bueatifull.
My Wife bought me a Berkley Cherry Wood graphite 7/8 weight, she thougth we would go back east to fish for Atlandtic Salmon, and I love it, not as much as the glass rod, but nice rod for the wind in SW Ab, not sure what the C40 designation is but that is my experaince with Berkley Cherry Woods.

the cherrywood c40 8'6" is a #6/#7 line recomended by the aftma I own one of this rod and have found it to ne rather slugish for 6/7 wt but it could be me. im not the best caster in the world
