Default I Got Guts Swap is mailed

Ever had that one fly you are intrigued about but never had the guts to tie it? Here's your chance. Size and targeted species insignificant. Because this may be an extremely challenging fly, we'll have an April 1 receiving deadline. Same ol' same ol' on protocol, shipping, etc. (SEE THE STICKY!!!) We have eight tyers for this swap. Go get 'em!

    1. Crease Fly -- White43
    2. DianeID -- Spey River Fly (RECEIVED)
    3. Feather Fastener -- Belle Watling (RECEIVED)
    4. Bassman -- Silver Doctor Soft Hackle (RECEIVED)
    5. CKJacks -- Rojo Midge (RECEIVED)
    6. HMD -- "Almost a Jack Scott!" (DROPPED)
    7. Rawfish - Royal Coachman (RECEIVED)
    8. Cal E. Batis -= popper

When you have them completed, mail them with your self addressed and stamped envelopes to John G. White, Box 672, Clara City, MN 56222. JGW

Sounds like a challenge to me!

I'll try the Spey River Fly.

Thanks for throwing down the gauntlet!

Hey, cool. I've wondered about what one looked like. I need to thank Parnelli for stretching my mind on a recent swap, and this is the next step. Thanks for playing. JGW

I have only tried to tie Soft Hackle flies one time. I love the look of them but not sure I can do them well enough. I would like to try them for this swap if that is ok. I will tie what I call a Silver Doctor Soft Hackle.

    Hook: Mustad 94840 #10
Body: Silver Doctor 1 Strand Floss
    Thorax: Tan Ostrich Herl
    Hackle: Partridge
    Cover Head With SHHAN

    Thanks in advance John
I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.

Well I'd like to actually have the guts and materials to tackle a classic Atlantic Salmon fly like a Jock Scott, I'm a few years away from that.....

I have yet to try tying anything on any hooks smaller than size 16, So put me down for a midge pattern TBD. I'll try and find some hooks in the 20-30 range and prove to my fishin buddy I won't go blind tying them.

Actually, I changed my mind I'll do some sort of Atlantic, Might not be a Jock Scott, but I'll try something, I've been Playing around tonight and I have a few flys I was happy with. I'm not going to tackle married wings with this one, but it will be a featherwing Atlantic, Hopefully

Needed a creative break from regular trout and pike patterns I've been tying lately.
