    Anybody have a recipe for yarn salmon egg flies?

    There are lots of ways to mimic an egg and different legal boundaries seem to determine what people think. Here in AK they recently decided a bead was a "fly" and allowed them in "Fly Fishing Only" areas.

    That said, I suspect your bigger question may be about tying flies like the "Glo Bug" which is a ridiculously easy fly to tie, and effective in many iterations. Literally, a few wraps of thread for a base layer, a soft loop around a bunch of McFlyfoam (yarn, not solid) which is then cinched, wrapped like a parapost and tied off. The bundle of McFlyfoam is then pulled straight up and cut all at once straight across. The result fluffs into a nearly perfect sphere every time. It is literally a 15-second tie when doing them in huge numbers...

    There are tons of patterns using a string of beads with other materials to mimic rotting flesh, fresh salmon trimmings, etc. the Happy Meal is an example.
