Variation on a Kiwi pattern. Usually tied with a chenille body, the one I found had a red dubbed body with silver rib; this one's a deeper version.

mash barb, tie wire in at front (leave 1 eye width free at the front); wrap to bend






prep a pair of saddle feathers, measure against body and strip fibers off underside of feathers; tie in










pull wing tight to the rear, insert needle to separate hackle fibers and rib the wing Matuka style with the return wrap; helicopter end, cover with thread
