Thomas JeffersonNever trust quotes you find on the internet.
There is a really good explanation of deer hair and elk hair by Kelly Galloup in Youtube . He does a good job of covering it.
If I see the link, I will post it for you.

Byron, I watch Kelly's video on hair quality and it was good in explaining quality. My question originated from looking at a material website and seeing all the options offered with little explanation as to why I would want to buy a particular selection. The site was Hook and Hackle which I like. The sites mentioned above, by Scott and Joe, are excellent for the information I needed. Thanks to all.

JC. I understand. I thought Kelly did a good pretty good job of explaining, given the need to do so in a short video
Kelly is pretty straightforward.
Yep, Kelly is one of my favorites. After viewing the sites recommended above, I really liked the information and photos presented on the site Joe recommended. It answered 90% of my initial questions and caused me to further examine the hair I already have and do some sorting, etc. As you will note, this gentleman is a little prejudice to Elk for various reasons.
