Kindles need software update
I was listening to Rush Limbaugh this afternoon and he mentioned that all Kindles and Kindle Apps need to be updated by March 22. That's today. Sure enough when I brought my Kindle app up today a message popped up saying it needed to be updated today. Apparently if you wait, it is more difficult to update. That's a heck of a way to get the notice.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll go check my Kindle now and make sure I update both mine and my wife's to avoid the hassel.

Is this the "Kindle Fire" you are talking about? I have both the "Kindle" and the "Kindle Fire". The "Fire" was updated a few days ago, just about the time was getting familiar with the old set up!!!

This is the traditional Kindle not the Kindle Fire (in any form). My understanding is that if you didn't upgrade by EOD yesterday you'll have to do a manual upgrade via computer (I've heard there are instructions on Amazon site), as Amazon will have blocked all Kindle's that didn't upgrade (I've heard rumors this patches a significant security issue which is why Amazon has blocked all devices without the upgrade).
