Hey Joe
I cannot believe that Warren used a bead. Is that your variation of the fly??
By the way...nice looking fly, I will take a dozen!!

I believe TN orange hasn't s been working as good lately as in the pat.
Brad, I have a couple of Warren's stick bugs he gave me when I came up in the fall, that he tied with a bead head.
Want to hear God laugh? Tell him Your plans!!!
Brad,
The original pattern calls for a beadhead. I do have several tied up with no bead and have them weighted with lead wraps as an underbody. I also have several tied up with a tungsten bead. The pattern, at least for me, seems to produce better when fished deep. The original pattern calls for a green floss body, brown hackle palmered, olive marabou tail with a couple strands of flash and 2 strands of peacock herl tied in behind the beadhead at the top and pulled down the top of the fly and end at the tip of the tail. This pattern has produced a lot of trout for me.

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.
