Just curious about this. Does anyone use the 'netting' in which some fruits and vegetables are packaged? For example: lemons are in a yellow netting; avocados in a brownish black; oranges in orange; etc. From an observation POV, the netting is a flat nylon.

I've looked at it, but never decided how to use it. Maybe it could be cut in strips, looks something like cactus chenile.

Look at some of Hans Wielenmann's patterns, I believe there are one or three and more that he uses that netting for bodies and ribbing

Although I have not done this, I have seen that kind of netting used as a scale-pattern "template" when spry-painting balsa-wood poppers.

Here is an FAOL article in which the technique is mentioned:

I am with wcglass...I also remember Hans using this material or something very similar in some of his flies.

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.

Hans did have a series of flies that he tyed using netting material. Since then I have been watch for some. I do have some red and orange, my latest find was from organic garlic. It is a nice medium blue and stretchy. I have used it for both ribbing and wrapped bodies.
