I think there is room for a website like Snopes where "tricks" like these can be explored and declared true or false. Just since I wrote the post above, I thought of three more, Red Owl Cat Food, Copenhagen Snuff, and Nightcrawler Mating Musk. I am going to save them for a book, an article, or to get the new Fishing Legends website started. Kerry, do you mind if I use you story about urine. How do you use, anyway?

It is not my story. That tid bit came from an article written for FAOL about scent and things that mask it. You might be able to find the article by searching the site. Or perhaps someone else remembers it also. I know the article is at least 5 years old and perhaps even older.

Thanks. I didn't find urine as a cleanser, but on this very website, I found fly patterns with urine in the recipee.
The Light Hendrickson and Female Hendrickson call for this:
Body: Urine Stained Belly Fur from a vixen fox. (tanish grayish, pinkish)
Tup's Indespensable is even more interesting:
Body: Mix white fur from a ram's testicle with lemon-coloured fur from a spaniel and cream seal's fur with a small amount of yellow mohair.
