Two material only swap.

I'm *THINKING* of joining, but before I commit to it, let me ask: If you have a material, say woodchuck hide, can you use everything from hide up and count it as one material? Like say I'd use the guard hairs as a wing and use the underfur as a dubbing - are they one material or two? Then if I want to use the hide itself for cutting out legs, is that still one, two, or three materials?
Just thinking about joining, don't add me... yet...
