Default What's your best dollar store find?

As many of you have discovered, dollar stores an amazing source for fly tying "equipment" and materials.

Many people probably have their dollar store favourites - mine are pill boxes...I use them for everything from fly boxes, to hook and bead caddies.

So, what dollar store finds have been your favourites?

    Andrew,

    Each of these $1.

    - Pill boxes (set of seven boxes in a caddy with 4 compartments for each box).
    - crazy glue (2 or 3 containers per package).
    - Christmas tree tinsel (holographic mylar).
    - Magnifying glass.
    - Reading glasses.
    - Plastic sweater boxes with lids(no longer available).
    - Set of box cutters.
    - Multi color dusters.

I'm sure there's been other stuff but these are just what I can think of right off the bat.

Ours used to have bubble envelopes that I could get 2 for $1 , and were available in 2 sizes that were perfect for fly swaps . They no longer carry them though .

My nearest dollar store is in a nearby town. I usually stop in and walk the aisles when driving past. Have found some incredible bargains.

For tying, though, I usually score better at the crafts stores. If anybody reading this ties and has a local Michael's store neqrby, I encourage you to walk the aisles.

Your dollar store find does not need to be limited to tying materials, it could be items to help organize your fly bench, tools or items for your vest, etc.

There are great things to be had!

My best find was probably the ostrich feather dusters. 2nd best was the closeout
on their flip flop sandels for $.50 pair.
Also the chartruese spider web material for
halloween and the holographic tensile strips. Warm regards, Jim
