    Default Besides sox & underwear...

...what did Santa bring you? I must have been a good boy because I got "The Bread Baker's Apprentice", "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day" and a Cuisinart 3 cup mini food processor. What else would you expect for Doughy Joey... a Helios? Surely not tying materials, since I have enough for 2 lifetimes already. I'm not much on catching fish, but for sure we'll at least have some bread for shore lunch. LOL

Our favorite gift was our eldest DD's engagement announcement. We have loved the guy from the first day she brought him around. Yep, Mama is a real happy camper (me too) because now she can start planning a wedding. There goes my retirement fund. I think I'll let someone else make the bread for this one.

    Smile Gifts

    Joe,

Not a gift that I received, but rather one that my wife and I are giving each month of 2009, one of the clubs I belong to, the Alpine Fly Fishers, has their fund raiser meeting around Christmas, their only source of income for the year. My wife had a great idea of offering a monthy dessert for one lucky raffle winner. Turns out the club president won that raffle item. The tickets being sold for it were $5 tickets and the bucket for those tickets was fairly full, it brought in a lot of money. Guess we will be offering this raffle item at each yearly fund raiser.

WOW, Larry. That's a great idea. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to steal the idea to share with the three non-profit groups I work with, as potential silent auction items for their fundraisers.

The pastor of our church donates a dinner purchased and prepared by him in someone's home for 8 people. He does this a couple times each year. Just recently he did a class on Appetizers in someone's home for 10 people, along with the hostess who is quite a good cook herself.

Lots of great ideas to help out worthwhile organizations. Keep up the good work. It always comes back to you.

You get more than underwear and sox for Christmas? Who do I need to talk to about this?
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.
