Well it is certainly nice to finally see the Chum Salmon get a little love - Thanks LF
I caught my first Chum 4 years ago and quickly became a fan of them. These salmonids are peverbial Rodney Dangerfield, they just get no respect.
Let's take a quick look at Chum's
1) They are VERY strong fighter's with a never give up attitude.
2) There are HUGE, HUGE, HUGE returns of them so there are PLENTY to fish for.
3) They are very aggressive and come to a fly VERY WELL.
4) Did I mention they were strong fighters, ate flies well and there were lots of them
Last evening I returned from my annual October trip to BC. Yup, I had some fun with some bright Chums as did my wife. Rods were bent, drags were screaming, flies were getting chewed on . . . what could be better.
PErhaps some day they will get the respect they deserve as a great gamefish.
