Wow that's some bright slash.
Nice fish Betty. Congrats!
The most available fish at the Idaho Fish-In is the Cutthroat...match that to the mint green water coming off the glacier (Lochsa River) and you have something quite spectacular *S*

After carefully checking all the icons, I didn't find one for a HIGH FIVE. So when you read this, just imagine my hand up there about shoulder height and give it a good one !!!!!!!

P.S. The thing about catching cutts - it never gets old.

Good for you Betty what a beautiful fish.
Remember we all live down stream
Nice fish! Cut throats seem to be the fish of choice these days! They certainly make for great pictures.

Can only speak for myself, but cutts are my fish of choice this time of year.
Here in the Intermountain West, they are the only native trout, and one of only a few native gamefish, to include mountain whitefish, which some folks don't like or won't admit to liking, and grayling, which are pretty rare and are more likely the descendants of stocked grayling than wild grayling.
So it is pretty special to be fishing for wild native trout in the first place. And while they can be found in big rivers ( like the South Fork of the Snake ), they are more likely found in the smaller rivers and mountain streams, which are my personal preference generally, and only really open for fishing over the summer and fall months.
So even if they weren't one of the most beautiful fish around, and I think they are, they would still be high on the list, just because the are native and wild, and where they are to be caught.
Not to say the wild rainbows, cuttbows and browns around here aren't fun to fish for, and catch. But they aren't native. And they can be fished year round in my neck of the woods, so I save them for the late fall through the early summer.
When the mountain streams are fishable by conditions and through the season, cutts are definitely my fish of choice.
