TBird,
Another welcome from a Freestate Fly fisher in Kansas ( the Johnson County connection).
Thank you for that. I was out fishing for a while.
I like the TMC 102Y for my soft hackle flies.
Thanks. Now if I can only get the weather to straighten out, I might be able to get the fishing done I need to get done.
I have to agree with the nor-vise. I bought one last year and love it.
I have a Olympus tough series for on the water, and a Nikon D3100 for after fishing, and fly tying pics.
I love my robber I bought a year ago. I can skip docks with it's accuracy, and I am thinking of selling my Sage Smallmouth rod because of what this one will do.
I have bought the Nor-Vise, and to me it was the best $ spent. It has some amazing features that you can do with it.
Kim, Well put She is at the top of the prayer list in this house.
Welcome Prairieschooner,
Don't let EdD distort your view of Betty and the rest of her posse in the JO county. We are just fishing for a good time on the water. If you ever find your way up to the JO...
I need to catch a Smallie on a fly. I do not have big goals, but I want to work up to bigger fish (i.e) walleye, brown trout, musky, pike and brooke trout in this order.
I love watching old footage of the outdoors like this one. Thanks that felt good. We used to have one of those shows in the Kansas City area produced by the longest running fishing show host Herald...
What would be the best way to cut the foam out? I have tried copper tubing, but they look kind of torn up. That is a nice looking popper.
Today is the first day with a snow fall that can be measured over one inch at the Kansas City airport. Wow I can't belive it took until 2/13 to have this happen this year! It would also happen to be...
That is a beautiful gun! I would like it better if it was a Winchester, or a Remington. That is just me. My dad would never buy anything other than a Winchester, and I gues that is why I favor those.
The last time I was tying at the North Akansas Sowbug, Tony Spiezio tied a fly called the Chilli Demmon. Tony claimed that it was a killer on small mouth. Iti will be thrown this year at smallies.
Use it until it breaks, and then hang it on the wall. It did not cost anything, give it a go. You will never forgive yourself if you sell it without using it. I know I am kicking myself for selling...
I have had some nice results using "Loon UV Knot Sense" for tying my copper john's.
It will take six more weeks for us in Kansas to even see any winter. No snow falls over a inch, and the last four days the temp has been in the 60's for a high. Thank you Global Warming, I like your...
Betty I will be turning some reel seats later this month. I will try some osage orange, and a few other woods. Let me know if you have a flavor in mind.
STAND UP!! Preach that word. Everything taste better in a little hot oil.
I don't think that they could afford the BUD. I would imagine they are more of a PBR drinker.
You could always tweet the gov. of Kansas that seems to be a hot topic, or just have a sit in on a stream.
Well what would you expect from our great "KDWP"?
Dave
If you go to the "Freestate Fly Fishers" web site, in the photo section we have some pics from where Jeff was fishing in the blog. I think the pics are in the New Years day tag, and there is a...
