Feathers are a waste product at chicken processing plant and the entire chicken is a waste product at egg producing facilities once they past their prime. The available of feathers to be turned into fabric is huge. It would also improve air quality down wind from the waste process plants for chickens.
I would tie a lot more hackled flies if I was plucking feathers off of that skin.
