We were on a very large flat with less than 30" of water so I was 100% confident that we would recover the outfit. I was less than confident though that there would still be a fish attached to it when we did get it back.
I threw it willingly to hopefully keep the fish on. Didn’t drop it. We’d rather be luck than good anytime : )
It’s back up now, sorry for the trouble. Thanks to all for the kind words. I still have goose bumps : )
Did you actually throw it or was the line wrapped around the reel?? Sweet none the less!!

I saw what was about to happen and knew if I didn’t throw it, I would have broken off the fish. I knew i’d recover the rod, just was not sure the fish would still be on the line. Worked out GREAT : )
