YOU can't tie this fly

I was shaping my beard earlier today and ended up with a handfull of hairs. Being a fly tyer of course I began thinking.

With my eyesight, ALL the flies I tie look just like that.

Not only can’t I tie the fly, I can’t see the fly.

I tried to delete the post when i saw how bad the picture was but can’t figure out how. It didn’t look that blurry in ther smaller window of my camera.

Hey, Rainbow, my wife is from Muskegon and my sister-in-law lives in Nunica!

I think I’m going to be sick.

You can delete the photo by going to the edit function at the bottom of your post. Just select and delete the link for the photo. Then you can take another photo and edit the post to include the new photo there.

Then we’ll all know whether we can see the fly, can tie it, or be sick, as others have suggested.

If the camera has a button to put it into macro mode, activate that too. Many times the button will look like a flower since companies know that all of use uneducated people can’t read.

I retied the fly using a different hackle. The first fly diffused the light too much to focus on it. The body is from my beard ribbed with gold wire.

Oh !! I thought it was the soft hackle that was tied with your beard. You would be right on that score - my whisker “feathers” don’t have that nice barring on them.

The soup in the beard hairs makes it bait, you know :stuck_out_tongue:

After MIFI '10, there might be a whole bunch of us who can.
Naw, I can’t participate in that. It would upset Butterfly.

No picture so can’t follow the pattern recipe to tie it, but can shave some of the salt & pepper to dub on a hook in a spinning loop with a color coordinated soft hackle to get that old as the hills looking fly! A new version of a hairs ear with or without a gold bead head !:cool:

He says we CANNOT tie it…

I ask WHY would we want to?
