Best fisherman bloopers
Bill Dance is one of my favorite T.V. fishing hosts. I have a V.H.S. tape of his bloopers. I really respect a person with such dignity that can laugh at themselves. In some of those bloopers he got pretty seriously injured. Like the one where he blew out his knee and the one where he tangled with a nest of angry hornets on a low hanging branch.

Back in Memphis I worked with Bill’s cousin in-law. I have laughed at his misfortune over the years, I think he has realized how lucky he was to have been a good fisherman who was credited with catching the first fish in the first pro tourament. He was sell title insurance for a living at the time. Surplus City in Memphis saw fit to make him their spokesman and host his show on Saturday morning. They were the place to buy fishing tackle in Memphis in the '70’s. I have a Cardinal 3 spinning reel on a St. Croix ultralight rod purchased there for a Christmas present about '73 and an Ambassadeur 5000A for the prior year. I think the bloopers are the results of spending a lot of time with rods in hand and in a boat.
