Yosemite Brand Fly Tyer?s Finger Treatment

I have been reading the various threads and the sponsor page about Yosemite Brand Fly Tyer?s Finger Treatment. I just emailed the sponsor asking if their product will work for fingers that get so dry they crack, bleed and are sore as heck. Any of you users have this condition and did you find the product to work? Sure hope so, cause I am cursed with this condition every fall and winter.

No sooner do I send the company an email asking if the product might work for me, I get a response. Very impressive! Below is the reponse I received. I am going to give it a try and report back on the results.

"Hello Mr. Empringham, thanks for your contact.

In a word?. I dunno. Though an answer to your inquiry cannot possibly be guaranteed, it would be my guess that yup, it just might do the trick.

This ?stuff? absolutely does not contain any man-made goodies, penetrates well and has some pretty long lasting affects, though it can be washed off/out with soap and water so? do note that the additional washing may very well cause your fingers to dry-out again.

It?s also used in small, small amounts. My wife uses it on her feet while other folks seem to be using it on their elbows. Please note that bleeding is not one of their prior complaints; it sounds like your condition is pretty extreme. It works into calluses very well and softens-up those monsters on the first knuckle of my large toes adjacent the ball of my feet, which can become fairly large and aggravating.

If you would like to reply with your mailing info I would be more than happy to send you a tub of it and, should it work for you, you can let your guilt be your guide in payment. Else, it?s on-the-house. I would ask that you comment on the product on the web-site in the Blog/Comment area? good, bad or ugly. If it works for you, it may work for others and if it doesn?t work, it doesn?t hurt to ?warn? others as well.

I would suggest that the proper amount be applied, perhaps for a few days ?running? and see how it works. Let your good sense be your guide. ?Work? it in real well, but don?t tear-up your fingers with it, you?ll need them.

If I hear from you soon enough, I can get it onto the ?slow pony? First Class this afternoon; I?m up in the hills and the Post Office is a good ways from here. I try to get everything posted by 9:00 when the Post Office opens.

Codially,

Christopher Dahl"

I’ve used it and love it. The trick is to not use very much. It has enabled me to use some very old acetate floss that was unusable without treating my finger tips with this stuff. It does wonders for rough hands.

Hmm i may have to get some, i have been wondering about its effectiveness on other skin such as the feet.

TyroneFly - I used to go through the same thing as you - all year long. Nothing worked for long, and I tried everything I could find. FTFT not only worked like a charm, it lasts for a couple of days after you apply it. It also seems to make other hand creams much more effective when used in conjunction with FTFT. You’re not going to believe this stuff until you try it. It is definately not “just for fly tyers”…Ed
