Patches sounds like a great idea. A quick check of Froogle revealed the below link to a place that makes patches. I am sure there are others.

Warren,
Good post & great idea!
Is it true that when the patches arrive, YOU have volunteered to sew them onto our articles?..FREE!!!
…How nice!

Patch(es) 2 sizes, would be best for me. I’ve had the same hat for years and I’m affraid if I change it the Dawg wouldn’t be able to find me on a run.

Count me in. I collect hats, but patches will work.

I’ve got hats all over the house. I usually wear them working on a car or fixing a water pipe and they get ruined for fishing (I am very careful with my good mojo fishing hat though. Only fish slime and flies go on that puppy).
Patches sound like a great idea to me. Slap one on the vest and favorite fishing shirt and folks could tell I was from FAOL. That may or may not be a good thing depending on how the casting is going.

Love the idea of hats, but patches would work dandy!! I’ll sew one to a cap!
Trouts don’t live in ugly places
There’s also a paper-backed fabric sheet that you can run right through your printer, peel off the backing, and sew it on anything you want. My wife made her sister a quilt for her 80th birthday tht had several dozen pictures on different blocks. The one I’m looking at is “Jaquard” brand, and I got it at J. Michaels craft store. Just a thought. Lew
What’s the copyright situation with the logo JC? And what are your feelings about pulling the graphic off the net and printing it up to display? Lew
The logo(s) are not just copywrite, they are also trademarked. Not without our written permission, thank you.

Warrenp;
You have mail!
I would be in for a purchase of the patch.
Jack,
I have responded to your e-mail.

A hat for me, and patches, How about a wind breaker or rain jacket if possible?

Sorry to reply so late LF/JC. I understand that the logo’s etc. are private property, and have no desire to infringe. Once I posted the possibilty of printing off your own “sew on” patch or logo, I thought it best to ask the question about copyright in the event that someone would do such. Your reply should clear up any doubt. Thanks, Lew
There was a FAOL Patch, that was offered the 2nd year after the start up of ‘Friends of FAOL’. I have mine on my fly vest.
Sorry I posted this as a New Topic by mistake, omit the new topic if you wish
Well, I have just read this thread.
I am in the Promotional Products business.
(My company has been in business over 30 yrs)
I supply imprinted and embroidered products to clients in Toronto, Canada and the U.S.
In my experience, patches are more expensive than direct embroidery because on the amount of “fill” stiches and the backing.(plus they have to be sewn on) The Canadian dollar could be an advantage and I could supply a quality, border friendly hat. The cheapest option would be for a hat made in China but I prefer the U.S or Canadian made quality hats for the little extra in price.
If the digitizing is already done, Shirts and Jackets and even Bags could be done later down the road.
Your problem might be getting everyone to agree on product and commit to ordering.
If I can be of service,I would gladly help the Site , and those who have taken the time to answer my rookie questions on several occasions.
Merry Christmas All

Chris;
That’s the format my friend wants! He has about a dozen machines.
Just a thought but: If JC was not happy with original patch, why not have a contest with some new ideas for an FAOL patch design.?
JC,
I have one of those patches that was sent to me when joining “Friends of FAOL” and I noticed that the “.com” was missing on the patch but was on the hat pin so I have told my vendor here that the “.com” would need to be on the patch since we are promoting FAOL. My vendor will be in contact with me next week on a sample and I will not be doing anything with this til I touch base with you and LF so that you all can see what is possible.
Thanks to both of you for a great web site and all your hard work. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Warren
