Larva Lace is one of the Sponsors here and I found a page from their site on Worm Flies,

The one in the upper left is made with their product…“Solid Half Round”…Thanks
Duckster,
What might be the one on the upper right tied with?..I like that one as it looks more like the real deal than the rest.
Could that be floss covered with epoxy??
Doug

Please elaborate on the hook, size, manufacturer, etc.
Thanks. Tim
Upper right was tied with .5mm Strech Magic [from Michael’s] and covered with Sally Hansens Super Shine.
Tim,
It’s a Mustad #80150BR size 12 Swimming Nymph Hook
Tiemco 400T is the same and I think Daiichi has one but it may have just a little different shape.
You might want to check this out…
The Tiemco 400T has been discontinued, sadly. In Nashville, Cumberland Transit is the only place that I know of that still has any. They also still have Uni-Thread in the Light Blue color.

Hi,
Not to hi-jack, but has/is Light Blue Uni-Thread being discontinued?
- Jeff
I hear that it has already been discontinued. Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops no longer list it as available. It is fairly close to Light Gray, but it is certainly different and there are a few patterns that call for it.

P.S. Welcome to your new status of Hijacker!
Nice worm flies, Phil. Now comes the important question. Are you catching fish with them? Please elaborate what (trout, bream, etc.) and how to (indicators, or not, etc.). Thanks.
BTW, great book for tyers that already have a working knowledge of traditional natural materials and common fly patterns. It is a book of patterns using synthetics and combined traditional natural/synthetics more than a instructional book of tying but worth it as it shows the possible applications of synthetics.
Robert, I was afraid someone would ask
First of all I only tried them briefly once.
Secondly I consider myself a real rookie chironomid fisherman…[probably explains why I haven’t tried them more].
