Wisconsin's pre-settlement landscape

After reading Rascal by Sterling North <mumble mumble> years ago, I have always had a mental image of Northern Wisconsin as being a vast sprawl of Jack Pines after the White Pines had been cut. I’m glad to see much more diversity and character there.

Thanks,
Ed

It’s been a loooong time since reading “Rascal”. I think Brailsford Junction (fictional name for Edgerton, WI) had more prairie and Oak savanna. Edgerton is in southern Wisconsin.
