Stu,
Flies are in the mail. Wasn’t sure of the count so I sent what may be extras. Enjoy! There’s also a fly or two for the swapmaister.
Vickie is doing the mailing so you may get a SASE or cash to cover same, depending on how rushed she is.

Update as of 11/29/04
As the swap members saw in email, SDH had to drop out; Halcyon dropped out earlier. That puts the total number of swappers at 12 (and the total number of flies at 13 so I can send a set to Ronn Lucas).
Two sets have arrived so far: NoahsBoyz send in some nice fluorescent Morning Glories, and BadBug’s Salmon la Sacs arrived today.
Here’s the lsit of swappers as I have it:

Just posting the recipe for the pattern I tied for this swap, which is a modfication of Mike Kennedy’s “Salmo Le Sac”.
Hook: Dia-Riki 899 - #6
Thread: 6/0 Black
Tail: Peacock sword
Body: Dubbed salmon pink ‘Lite Brite’
Rib: Holographic gold ‘Flashabou’
Hackle: Bearded with ringneck pheasant
body feather
Wing: Red fox squirrel tail
The original pattern called for a body of “salmon colored wool”, a rib of “narrow gold rope”, and a “furnace” hackle.

My PC has been out of commission for about 5 days, I just got it back up today.
I ran into trouble when I decided to remove the software for my old camera.
I am a little behind with the swap but I will be on time. I am tying a fly called the ‘Goat’s Toe’. It is a modern version of an Irish fly very popular on the Western Isles for sea-trout. Pattern to follow.

Ok here is what I have been tying for this swap. Actually I have tied up two patterns. The first pattern is this yellow perch, the recipe is listed here… http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/Forum5/HTML/003805.html[/url:5e0ca] The second fly is green “Chum Salmon Slammer” that you can look at here. http://www.angelfire.com/wa/salmonid/fly514.html[/url:5e0ca] I know neither of these flies is a “winter steelhead” fly but I am sure that they will work.
EDIT-The green chum slammer should pass as a egg fly of sorts and the red fins on the perch should get some fishy attention as well

This is a picture of the ‘Goat’s Toe’.
It is tied on a #8 wet fly hook and the tail is GloBrite #3 fluo crimson multi-yarn.
The hackle is a bit bigger than the recipe states but it is a bigger fly than is usually tied for loch style drift fishing.

Wet Fly Guy’s flies arrived today, and Steven Ojai’s are in the mail…
Stu
I will send in my Borden Dees as soon as I get your mailing address Stu!
DavPot’s Borden Dees arrived today.
FInally decided on my pattern, my rendition of a marabou tube fly called the Quasi-Domo.
Hey Stu, DUCK !!! There are a bunch of bullets heading your way. 13 Krystal Bullets for the swap plus a few for swapmiester. Thanks much for running swap and allowing me to participate.
Krystal Bullet- Optic
Hook- Mustad-36890 size 8
Thread- UTC- size 140- Flour. Pink
Tail- Flouro Fibre- hot pink- 1 1/2 times as long as width of hook gep
Body- medium, chenille- Flour. rose- start body above hook barb, come forward 7 wraps then reverse over self for two wraps than forward again to end of 7th wrap. This is to form shoulder to flair the wing.
Wing- Krystal Flash- Orange- Tie wing on in front of eye sticking out over hook eye. Then pull wing to rear, completely circling hook. and tie in with a throat just behind the eye. Trim wing for length to go to mid point of tail.
Eye- medium dumbell with painted pupils. Tie eye on hook about size of one wrap of chenille in front of where chenille wraps ended. This allows space to tie in throat to flair wing.
Tail- Body and wing can be any color combination you wish.
Just wondering if the flies have arrived yet Stu. Hope you had a good time over the holidays.
