This is my first posting but have enjoyed reading the trheads on this site for a while. I am from the great lakes region in NY and will be heading out to Aspen CL, and Jackon Hole this january to do some skiing and hopefully some fishing too. Was wondering what the fishing is like in either of these places in beginning of january. Ive read mixed reports about it. Any info or general areas(not looking for any specific spots) where this could be possible would be great. I am fairly familiar with jackson hole, but this will be my first time is aspen. Welcome aboard:lol: , did you try Google and Fly Shops Aspen Colorado, or Jack Dennis in Jackson Hole?
Don’t know about Jackson, but you will be right on the headwaters of the Roaring Fork in Aspen and should get winter hatches of midges and BWO’s, maybe small black stones.
Not too far away from Aspen are the Frying Pan and the Colorado Rivers.
