We live on the corner of 2 streets. There are a grand total of 2 houses at this corner.
Those of you in the business of delivering things and working on houses…WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?
I mean what is so hard about this?
Oh yeah. My office is on a corner also. SO now they have the choice of 4 possible places. It isn’t this hard people!!
People don’t reason. Our school system has become one of indoctrination not thinking. Perhaps you need to put your number on both sides of your house, probably wouldn’t help but it might.
I live on a corner, always have, at three different locations, for my entire life.
Never been an issue. The mail/UPS/FedEx always get it here…ALL the door to door beggars, phamplet passers, and ‘can I piant your house number on the curb’ folks find me regularly…Sometimes I wish FEWER folks could ‘find’ me…
It is nice that I can tell friends/acquaintenances/apointments that we live on the South East corner of 12th and Inez…can’t miss it.
Didn’t someone famous once say ‘you can’t fix stupid’? Some folks are just stupid.
Maybe a big sign ‘THIS IS THE PLACE’ or something like that ;)?
I too have a house on a corner. I like a corner lot, even though the County access for both street’s maintance fees. As for not finding my house, I have 18 inch numbers on my attached garage door, as well as on both sides of my mailbox at the curb. I recommend that people not put their name on the mail box, as this can lead to possible break-ins.
My wife is clueless when it comes from getting from Point A to Point B. On “Road Trips” I always let her drive, while I am in the Co-Driver seat giving directions.
In life, either you have a sense of directions, or you don’t!
One quick clue for people that have this problem.
95% of the time the house FACES THE STREET IT IS ON! The front of the house faces the street it is on…NOT THE DRIVEWAY!
I live at the end of a dead end road. I haven’t had a problem yet. Directions to my house; turn left on blah blah lane, drive to the end of the road. Can’t miss the place. See ya around 7.
Yeser, I agree… I do a lot of work as an electrician and lots of places I go the customer gives me just a partial address… Somehow I still find the places with no problem… Fome folks have got theyre head up theys #%$@ and would probably go into a severe shock if they just happened to take it out a second to get a breath of air…
Don’t get me started on people and addresses. If possible you would think less of me.
1 example: 3545 East 119 and Kinsman. Ya see they are 2 different streets. I couldn’t believe the DMV put it on his license. So I axed the 32 year old driver about this gaffe and he told me “It’s okay I had moved 2 weeks ago”. Okay so what’s your new address? “I don’t know it yet I just moved”. And then it started…
I retired from delivering mail after 30 years. Lots of people don’t even know their own address. As far as I am concerned, the corner of X and Y is not an address. Lots of mailboxes that have numbers missing or out of order. Others have plants growing over and hiding the house number. I had an Express mail delivery for one house but couldn’t find it because there wasn’t a number on the house. After passing by several times the guy flags me down and asked if I was looking for him. I said I don’t know, who are you? When I asked him if he had a number on the house he just said “Naw”. I told him that he was lucky I wasn’t driving an ambulance.
My experience is that if someone can’t find your house its not because they are stupid.
