I recently found out that my brother-in-laws family has about 120 acres that back up to the San Juan National Forest near Chromo, CO (southeast of Pagosa Springs). The Navajo River runs through their land. They family doesnt do any fishing so they are unable to tell me what kind of fishing is in the area. I’ve never been to this area, obviously, but was wondering if anyone on this board knew if the Navajo fished very well or if there are other areas near that location that would be promising.
I’m not that kind of psychologist, but just as crazy. As for packing up and heading there, we are already going to be driving to Summit County this summer and this place isn’t TOO far out of the way. I’d at least like to see what the water is like.
Johnny,
Maybe you can give this guide a call just to ask him what you can expect. It would not be fair to ask for his knowledge of specific pools but generalities (species, size/width of the river, equipment) of the area might be fine to inquire. Of course, if he/your in-laws has a gripe angainst the other then, you know its a desired fishing area .
God Blesses!
