Who's joining us 1/5/08 at the Northern Ohio Fly Tying Expo??

Joe Valencic put up a post on the “events” forum…This Saturday’s show will, hopefully, be well attended by FAOLers. I plan to set up a table (or more) for FAOLers to “meet 'n greet”. Please let us know if you plan on being there by responding to this thread & PM me for my cell# so we can find all our FAOL family members.

Check out Joe’s post for show website details… website is www.expo2008.ncff.net
Hope to see you there!!
Mike

Will be there, but working in the Grand River Tackle booth. I’ll try to get a chance to walk around and meet everyone.

Jon

Jon,
I’ll be sure to look you up!
Mike

Mike,

I’m going to try and get there, still not sure I can get away though. Are you coming you coming to Cabin Fever again this year?

Rick

Rick,
PM me for my cell#. I certainly plan to attend Cabin Fever again…that’s a wonderful show! I looked at the Chapter’s site yesterday, but saw no mention of Cabin Fever date, so please let mew know when it is.
Thanks,
Mike

I’ll be there.

Your friendly fishbum will be tying flies again this year.

Probably tie the same ole ‘sparrow’. I still need to tie a couple hundred before I can learn something else.

fishbum

Yeah Jerry…like you NEED the practice!!
Al…Will you be working for the shop, or will you be on your own?
See you Saturday!
Mike

OK, boyz & girls, here is some late breaking news. FAOL Sponsor, Hook & Hackle, will be a vendor at this year’s show. Ron called me this morning and confirmed that he would be there, and asked what he should bring. Well, most of you know how much I enjoy that Tradition II 7’-9" 4-piece 3wt that I built for the MI FI back in July, and it’s an understatement that I promote that rod as THE most economical kit a new builder can get started with, so Ron said he’ll load up a bunch and haul them to the show. He also coerced one of his guys to take my place and do the rod building seminar using one of these kits. At least now there will be someone competent to do the seminar and answer any questions you might have about the rods they carry.

Ron is also bringing their new line of chemically sharpened hooks that are private labeled just for H&H, and he told me nobody can touch his price for these hooks. Be sure to stop by and let Ron know that we appreciate his sponsorship on FAOL.

Should be a great show with H&H there and so many FAOL’ers on hand as attendees and fly tiers. This has to give a warm & fuzzy feeling for JC & LF to see so many of us coming together like this.

I’ll update the seminar web page tonight to reflect H&H on the vendor roster and seminars schedule.

Any questions can be answered on the website at www.expo2008.ncff.net

See you at the show!

Joe

P.S. Just in case you might be wondering, yours truly does not benefit in any way, shape, manner or form from promoting H&H. So there!

I’ll be working at the admission desk after 11:30. Stop by and say Hi.

Mike

Cabin Fever is scheduled for March 2nd in Cranberry at the same hotel as last year.

Rick

Rick,
Thanks! Oldest daughter Molly’s birthday is March 3rd…I’ll have to talk 'em into celebrating on Saturday, March 1st. If I can do that, I will DEFINITELY be there!
Mike

Here’s an offer…Anybody from west, south, east, southeast, or southwest of Canton is more than welcome to stop here & ride up with me. Just shoot either a response to this post or PM me & we can set this up.
Mike

For anyone who remotely cares, I will be posting pictures of the Traveling Berkley Cap Brigade to the website under a new heading on this forum, starting with the first pictures taken. I was setting up the venue today and had my laptop connected to the school’s public network, and it was a really fast connection. fishbum will probably be the first one posted, since he will be setting up at the same time as me around 0700. Stay tuned, kiddies, for some fun and games on Saturday.

Joe

Hope you folks had a great time up there! I’m on “baby watch” since my wife measured 2 weeks ahead of her due date at the last appointment so it could be any day now.

Jim,
Sorry you weren’t able to be there, but sure is understandable.
We DO expect a post from you announcing the Blessed event!!
Mike
