The new Sage Z-Axis 5wt is the rod I fished all week in Idaho for cutthroat trout and also used to win the distance contest. It is one darn nice rod and I wanted the experience (time on the water) with it.

Congrats on winning that fine fishing tool. I had the opportunity to cast JC’s rod at the Idaho Fish-In (came in 3d in the distance casting with that rod) and it’s a great rod. I’m just a little jealous, okay I’m a lot jealous.

I also had a chance to cast JC’s rod at Idaho. It was a very sweet rod. I think you will really enjoy it.
sorry it has taken so long to get this message out, but i just received the sage z axis rod from the september drawing.
sage could not have been more cooperative!! when they called me to ask which model i wanted i told them a 9" 5 wt and asked them to ship it to our children’s home in idaho as we were leaving in 2 days to visit them. the rod arrived the day after we got there. unfortunatly i did not specify a 4 piece rod, and they sent a 2 piece. i called them and apologized for my error and was informed the 4 piece rods were on back order and would not be available until the end of december. i figured i got to be 71 years old without having one, so what was the big deal waiting 2 months and asked them to then ship it to my home. tonite, 1 month early the ups driver interrupted our dinner by knocking at our door. when i saw the sage label on the tube all was forgiven. what a beautiful piece of work this rod is. you can bet i will be up early tomorrow and barring a monsoon this puppy is going to get tried out. i just hope the people who see me won’t think i am nuts because of the huge grin on my face. many thanks to FAOL and SAGE.
