Who makes the CF Design micro-slit foam knock off??

There’s a fly box ive seen floating around that has the micro slits, like CF Design, in the foam, but it sort of has more ofa triangle cut out, if that makes sense. Anyway, trying to track one down, and these are significantly LESS than the CF and perform about the same. Any help is much appreciated!!

Doug Swisher sells one called the “Bug Box”, if that’s what you’re talking about. I bought a set of three, and they work fine. Scroll down here:

I have seen them on Flea Bay. Search fly boxes and you will see them.

Orvis Watershed boxes have been showing up on eBay.
They are almost exactly like the C&F full size boxes but go for about $10.00

Wheatley has a foam insert that they call Easy Grip or EZ Grip here in the States that is white with slits and the little triangle cut-out you describe. They are available as self adhesive inserts in two different sizes and are pretty cheap if you can believe that. You can put them in any fly box you choose or spring for a Wheatley.

I THINK the new US distributor for Wheatley is REC so shops who carry REC products may be able to order them for you. You also can order directly from Wheatley in the UK. I have seen them in person and they are pretty nice.

It might be the one by Flambeau that they call the “Blue Ribbon” series.It is carried by Cabelas.The price has gone up on these I noticed from a year ago.I think they are built a little better than the CF’s.

I have one of those. The outer box is pretty much identical to the CF but the foam is not even close. Still a great deal.

Go to Bass Pro Shops and look under their White River line of products. They even have one with the middle “page” in it like the CF box.

I have had some success in making my own. Joann’s Fabric stores have a foam sheet that
is thicker than the usual 2mm. By trial and error I made a pattern and with an X-Acto tool
have been able to make a pretty good facsimile. It’s tedious, but a lot cheaper (er, uh in-expensive)
