White River in January?????

I’m thinking of fishing the White River near Lakeview or Flippin in Ark. toward the end of January. Anyone have any experience at that time of year? Guide recommendations? Any info would be welcome - thanks - Rick.

The white river fishes really well the norfork fishes better should have really nice bwo hatches. For a guide I would go to Blue Ribbon Flies in mountain home ask for a guide trip with Steve Nelson I would consider him a very good guide and will put you into to alot of fish. Oh yeah and his wife makes some incredible sandwitches for lunch.

Try Davy Wotton. He has a web site too. Do a search for him. You will learn a different way of fly fishing. I am using him in December. Should be very exciting. He is as reasonable as any other guides in the area and he has access to some private areas too. Good luck.

The White below the dam is closed until Jan. 31st. should wait until first week in Feb. and hit it then. Should be good and the fish will be hungry.
