Where There's Smoke (TR)

Took advantage of a few free hours to pester the locals. A bit smoky, to say the least

some good deals on a used snowcat; low miles, new treads

heard the drone of a multi-prop plane; surprised to see a slurry bomber up this way

nice place to start; lots of willing, if small, cutts

next stop

and I find one a bit larger

about the only other people up here today are rockhounds

wade a little farther up than usual, looking for some new water

this looks good

they’re as dumb as the cutts

packing up to head home I noticed the smoke was a lot thicker than when I started; hard to believe this is second hand from the fires in Missoula or B.C.

turned the radio on - lead story is about the lightning-strike fire that bloomed to 1000 acres overnight, just up the road

Scott
