Where Have All The Pirates Gone???

Or how about something in the same vein from the Chad Mitchell trio or the Lettermen. (How about NOT!)

This is the song that never ends
yes, it goes on and on my friends
some people started singing it a long long time ago
and they’ll continue singing it forever don’t you know,

cause it’s the song that never ends
yes, it goes on and on my friends
some people started singing it a long long time ago
and they’ll continue singing it forever don’t you know,
cause it’s the song that never ends

Betty, I kid you not. Many years ago I went to Disney World and they have a ride there “It’s a Small World.” If you’ve never been, it’s a little boat thing that goes along a canal surrounded by these freakin’ signin’ dolls from all over the world singin’ that very song in all different languages. As luck would have it, the ride broke down while we were inside, but the infernal music never stopped…AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Damn it! I haven’t thought about that song for almost 40 years. Dude that same exhibit was at the Worlds Fair back in 1965. Yes I was there. Of course I was just a youngster you understand. Well teenager is more like it.

1965? No wonder I can’t remember it.

Flats;

That is Rough man!

I hear that California wanted to institute that exact thing for drug dealers and the Supreme Court ruled that it would be cruel and unusual punishment!!

Don

I knew I shoulda stayed away from this board while trying to study.
Active Directory is Microsofts idea of “a small world after all”,NO concentrate on what your doing.
Windows XP has many repair options “that just goes on and on my friends” AAARRRRGGGHHHH

Reminds me of a week I worked 10 hour nights. Early in the week I said “This song drives me nuts” to a song on the radio. It has only 1 word in the song, and after a week of people reminding me of that 1 word every hour or so, I was ready to start drinking heavily.

Hey Mateys,
I’ve been fishing! Yes, spring has sprung and the fish are rising! Trout season is soon and the gills are biting, the bass are sluggish but the little ones are chomping on my wooley buggers. Oh, thank you merciful Father for spring! Winter is becoming a fading memory and the wife hasn’t been harping about the honey do list yet. I’ve been fishing!!!
Don’t worry though, I’ve still been keeping all of my flock in my prayers.

aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh and God be wit ye!

I purposely ignored the thread referenced song. Too many years spent working up a set lit, only to hear maudlin calls for such sacharin tunes from the audience. And it may as well be mentioned that in the original lyrical answer, the soldiers, sailors, and pirates were quite happy with the attentions of the young women; but such lyrics remain verboten here.

In answer to the request for Mitchell Trio material, it must have been a spring such as this that spawned the lyric,
“Yesterday, in old Fall River, Mr. Andrew Borden died.”
