When the Shoe Drops

Nice article this week. Can’t wait until spring.

Some day I will get you to go out in the cold anglerdave. I have corrupted JOe and you are next on my list.

Rick

I have nothing against fishing in colder wearther. It’s just trying to find fishable water. But I am always up for a drive down your way some Saturday.

Dave,

Man, I was all fired up to go fishing yesterday (Monday) on my day off. Sunday night I camped by the lake and the water was open. But it got down to 11 degrees overnight and when I woke up Monday morning I found ice wall-to-wall out to a distance of 200 yards down the lake arm. And of course a bitter cold wind was blowing hard, too.

Adding insult to injury, yesterday’s daytime high eventually rose to 65 degrees and thawed the ice. But that didn’t happen until so late in the afternoon that I didn’t have time to drive back to the lake and fish.

I can’t wait for spring, either.

I hear you. It is suppose to get up to 60 here today and of course I am working. But then rain, snow and colder temps are moving in later in the week.
