Not sure where to put this thread so I will land it here;
This is how I’ll Fry my fish today;
1 freshly squeezed lemon; mix same amount of water together in a bowl.
put catfish fillet or pieces in the bowl of lemon and water mixture until fillets start turning kinda white,
They have started the cooking prossess.
Mix together 1 box seasoned Zatarans or Lousiana’s Fishfry etc,.
mix in 2 or even 3 packages of "Instant White Gravey Mix together.
Salt the fillets to taste and roll the fillets in this Dry batter.
throw em over in some Hot Grease.
I promise this is some perty good Fried fish.
Yes Sir I like Popeyes Chicken.
I also like to leave the skin on trout as well as the heads while cookin em cuz when ya go ta eat em ya got sompthin to hold onto.
I’m talkin about the smaller ones(stocker size)
<I will not hijack your post! But I had a flashback to a trip I took to Israel … Talking about keeping the heads on so you’d have something to hold on to … the Pastor who was leading our group through the Holy Land ordered fish in a little cafe next to the Red Sea. He put his napkin over the head of the fish. I asked him why he did that, and his answer was the fish was so ugly, but tasted so good, he didn’t want the looks to interfere with his enjoyment! He was right, too. That was some seriously ugly fish!! OK … I’m out!>>

Last year I put one out on a plate for one of my daughters with the head still on,and ya know how the eyes turn real white and hard?
Well one of em flopped out on her plate and sounded just like a BB hittin her plate …Bless her Heart,she started gagging and begged me to take off the head for her or she would’nt touch it again.LOL…so the gentleman I am,I removed it.LOL
I’m with Betty…had chicken for supper today. It was my Nephews 16th B-day so we did a dinner for the family with Chicken, Shrimp, Broasted potatoes, cole slaw, and cake…I ate so much I felt like I was back at the “fish-in” again lol
Steve it sounds like you had a Great day as well.When you say “Broasted Potatoes” how is that prepared?..on the grill?
