Some of you may or may no know my wife’s health is not the best these days. Given that I am very lucky to work for a company that lets me (for the most part) work from home. Her medication causes her to sleep a lot, like sometimes 14 hours at a stretch. Again, given all that I do most of the cooking in the Jonezee household and I believe she is just fine with that too. Now all this rambling is leading to Jonezee secret cook book…the FAOL “Whats Cook’n” columns. I amaze Mrs. Jonezee with my brillant recipes and concoctions that are a delight to the eyes as well as the palate and not to mention sometimes the pocket book too. If your ever in a quandry what to fix for dinner, a snack or dessert…look no furhter…were having Mr. Hatch’s (july 5th 2004) Southern Fish Fry tonight. Instead of the catfish, it will be Lake Trout nuggets but the Hush Puppies will be all Hatch (no light beer in this here batter) Thank you FAOL! No lets see, where is that fryer and oil?
HEY!!! (don’t forget the cookies too!)
There in the freezer…like I need another cookie…yes, I need another cookie!
I of course had to add something to the mixture. 3/4 cup of soaked in brandy, Michigan dried cherries.
Jonezee,
Your a wonderful person!
God Bless you and your Wife!
Can I come over for dinner sometime?
Thanks,
Doug
You bet Doug and if were not home, we don’t lock the door here in SE Michigan…help yourself to the Fridg until we return.
She sleeps 14 hours at a time, can I get some for my 2 year old who gets up between 5:15 and 5:30 every morning!
Hey Jonezee,
Your a good man!G I hope the fish fry goes very
well for the both of you. Wish you had some of my
olde fashioned custard style bread pudding to go
with.G Warm regards, Jim
Jonezee,
Sorry to hear about your wife’s health. Hope she gets well soon.
You are making me hungry and I still I have another 2 hours of work before I can go home to eat. Dang I wish I had a batch of LF’s ice box cookies right now!
Jonezee I am sending an extra special prayer and a "get well soon"along for your wife. And as long as I am here how about sending a couple of those cookies my way.
Rocky
Jim Hatch’s Bread pudding!! I’m drooling!! Pair that up with LF’s Chicken Gumbo Soup, and you’ll be in little-hog-heaven!! (hummm … how long till supper?)
I have all these wonderful friends with an appetite. Sounds like a good combination to me. Thank for all the kind words, the cookies are mine…all mine!
Okay gang, I think it’s time to raid Jonezee ice box.
Who’s gonna pay to ship us there?
Doug
Here’s the plan. We setup a UPS account whereby Jonezee is billed the charges. We arrange for UPS to pick up the frig when Jonezee at work and his wife is sleeping. The instructions will include sending the refrig to one of their local Mail Box etc/UPS. Further instructions will include how to divide up the content, packing in dry ice and destination addresses.
I LOVE IT when a plan comes together!!! :lol
Doug
It is bitterly cold here in SE Michigan. The UPS guy is down at the stockyards cafe drinking hot coffe and eating doughnuts. Where I use to leave my door unlocked, it now looks like I will need to barricade myself in and sit with a shotgun across me knees in front of the Ice Box. Life use to be so simple. On the other hand, LC’s recipe is very simple, doesn’t take much time…as the Latin saying goes…
Nil illegitimi carborundum.
Jonezee,
I just wanted to know something before we come over for some treats!
What kind of AMMO do you use for your Shotgun??
FEDERAL 00 Buckshot or
Remington Nitro Steel Shot???
Thanks,
Doug
I have an 1955 Winchester model 12. You can take yourv pick of shot size, I load my own. Use Double A hules and mostly Hercules Green Dot powder. You can fit 9 double O buck in a 2-3/4 inch shell. Double O buck is 30 cal. On the other hand, I would be more careful around our German Shepard than me.
Jonzee I bet if I share the loot with that shepard it will be no problem. If this thread goes on much longer I might get hungry enough to try it.
Jonezee,
I’ve walked hundreds of miles and encountered many dogs, but german shepherds concern or scare me the most. I love dogs and I talk to them as I walk by their home. Most dogs bark because they are scared or their being protective.
Two times I thought I was in danger and both times it was a german shepherd.
I had a feeling something was behind me and when I turned around the german shepherd was coming after me, NOT MAKING A SOUND!
That’s what scares me, they don’t bluff.
Doug
