What will be on your table ?

What will be on your table for Thanksgiving dinner ? My table will of course have a nice roast turkey. But there will also be a roast elk loin with a cranberry glaze, cornbread stuffing, mom’s famous baked beans, yams, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, a green salad and dinner rolls. And for dessert pumpkin and cherry pie.

Now I have went and made myself hungry. I should have waited till it was closer to lunch time to post this.

Rocky

We will have several food items on the table, especialy the pumpkin cheesecake.
The main thing will be the folks around the table. Our kids will be here for the weekend and Ann’s sister will come over. We might even find a few folks who would have been by themselves to come.

Rick

Just a simple, humble meal with plenty of thanks for country, friends and family.

I bought a small frozen whole turkey a couple of weeks ago. I took my ‘meat saw’ and split it lengthwise, ate half and left the other half frozen. For Thanksgiving; store bought dressing, packaged gravy, cinnamon apple rings, asparagus, olives, salad and the other half of the bird.

There will be 22 of us in my cousin’s little lake house. I don’t know how we squeeze in
We’ll drink wine, eat like pigs, and laugh at each other.
I love Thanksgiving
Some menu items are traditional and go back to past generations, other change yearly.
By the time the bird hits the table, almost everyone will have had their fill of appetizers already
A couple of the kids rarely eat any of their dinner…so what
Right now I’m baking pies. Most likely there will be so many that some never get touched

My family will be all around the table, laughing and sharing and being together. Giving thanks to our Lord and Savior for all our many blessings…God Bless you all…Dan

Just the two of us. Smoked turkey, we’ll split a baked potato, a box of Stove Top stuffing and a nap. Then a slice of pumpkin pie.

[b]Hey Rocky,

Now you’ve really gone and done it man!

Roast Elk Loin with cranberry glaze! Oh that hurts for sure! What time are we eating, I need to see if I can catch a direct flight or if I’m gonna be stuck in the airport doing transfers all day! Aahahahahahaha!!!

Hope you have a great time with your family.

Kindest regards,

Terry

Turkey, ham, stuffing, yams, mash potatoes, string beans, simple garden salad, carrots, celery, olives, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, jello salad, maui onions, pickles, gravey, pumpkin pie, cakes, cookies, candies, and other fine foods and sweets. Yum yum!

Our entire (Illinois contingent) family will have Thanksgiving dinner at my sister/brother-in laws’ lake home in Wisconsin. Including grand kids, there will be about 28 of us. Among copious amounts of other edibles there will of course be the traditional roast turkey and my bro-in-laws’ “famous” corn bread and sausage stuffing. This gathering has been a family tradition for over 30 years. Once upon a time it was just we,our three young children, they ( no kids yet) and both sets of in-laws. Obviously through the years the Lord has made some adjustments in our numbers. We have lost the in-laws and gained children and grandchildren. This year we have a special reason to be thankful. My sister-in -law Natalie, for whom I posted a prayer request few months ago, is recovering from a catastrophic brain hemorrhage which has left her partially paralyzed. She is making slow progress but progress nonetheless. We are and will continue to be thankful that her spirit and will to recover remains strong.
I/we wish everyone here at FAOL and their loved ones, our brave troops in harms way and away from their families, a very Safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Just me and VEE as usual. Steak and King Crab, baked potato, green beans and a salad. I’ll eat the veggies if there is still room after the steak and crab.

Fish and chips???

We’ll start out today going to Mass to give thanks for our blessings with our church community. Then it’s off to my brother’s home for all the traditional goodies (including those darn “Company Beans”). Since all the nieces & nephews are now grown, and some are married, it’s interesting to see the new dishes they bring to each holiday meal as they add to the traditional favorites. Most are “keepers” as the kids had good teachers in the kitchen, and they are among the brightest kids on the planet.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who will not be able to celebrate with family & friends today, and for our troops who’s sacrifices allow us the freedom to celebrate. May God bless and protect them, and bring them safely home to their families to celebrate again.

Same old, same old here … Fed nearly 40, in and outers tonight at Bills’ Aunts house. Very nice. They served Roast Turkey, Chicken, Sweet Potatoes, Oyster Stuffing, Regular HM Stuffing, Corn from the cob (very good) gravy, noodles, Potatoes, Pumpkin Cookies w/ Butterscotch Chips, Pumpkin and Chocolate Pies, Pumpkin Crisp, Swiss Cake Delight (lived up to its name for me) Cheesecake, and Pumpkin Pudding. I think thats it. Before I left, I baked a Spiral Sliced Ham ( last minute invite) I have a Pumpkin Pie, and a Turtle Pumpkin Pie, oh and Apple in the refrigerator, for “leftovers” YUM YUM !!

It was great company, and good food…
Thanksgiving –

Shari and Bill

PS forgot the cranberry, both canned/sliced and fresh.

Ron, I am shocked at you!  Growing boys like you and me need our veggies!  I ate a double helping of sweet peas so that makes up for you not eating your veggies.

We kept it simple this year. Fresh young bird, two types of taters, sweet peas and fresh croissant rolls. Add a generous amount of stuffing and cranberry sauce to complete the meal. Will take Amy out for pie later Friday.

Just plain thankful for all that we have and hopeful that Amy will be around for many more Thanksgiving Day celebrations.

P.S. Almost forgot that we did not go to Mass but sure did gain some.
