What Sized Cork?

Hi all,
I’m looking on [url=http://www.rod-blanks.com:530ba]www.rod-blanks.com[/url:530ba] right now, and trying to put a kit together. the problem however, is that that the corks don’t specify whetere ther for spin, or fly. Does it really matter? How big does it need to be 8’‘, 10’'?
Thanks for any input -David

There is a ton of information on grips available at most of the suppliers web sites. Fly rod grips come in many sizes and shapes there are full-wells, halfwells, cigar, western, superfines…etc…and the sizes range from around 5 1/2" to 7 1/2 inches on a standard fly rod and even longer on speys heavier rods. What I would do if you are unfamiliar with them is to visit a fly rod shop, find one you like the feel of and go from there. Where are you getting your blank and parts from? They should be willing to help you make the right choice as well.

checked site camo fly rod gotta get one, please let me know how the blank looks and works I am a bit careful on what blank I buy now, got one I was not too pleased with and with shipping cost here I don’t want to take any chances.

If you click on the Shop Icon, then go to page 2, you’ll see the fly rod grips starting with the second grip down (7" REV HLF WELLS SUPER GRADE .250ID W/CUTOUT).
However, I’d check with Bob at Hook & Hackle before I ordered anything.

Either call or email them and ask the ?. If you don’t like what you get, go somewhere else for your selfmade kit. I know you won’t go wrong with Hook/hackle if he has the blank you want.
