Well after a couple of emails recently asking about how I am doing I thought I would drop in here to fill everyone in.
I have been lurking on the boards but haven’t posted in quite some time. With family issues, getting married last summer and work I have had no time to go fishing lately; I feel like an imposter on this board.
The bigest news is that I am pregnant. I am also super tired and not doing much of anything lately as a result. Baby is due in August and I hope to get in some fishing before I get huge.
I am still tying though and once I get my hands on a better camera I will put together the FOTW submission that Deanna has requested and misc other ones I have in mind.
A hearty congratulations on your new
flyfishing Buddies.G I promise you, a
new child is even more fun than a new rod.G And my Mom and Dad missed very
little fishing when I came along. I was
right there with them, diapers and all.
All the best for a healthy, happy baby and
minimal weight gain.G Warm regards, Jim
While you can still get around comfortably, find a nice wicker basket with a fixed handle over the top. Sew up a mosquito net cover,
elastic on the outside edge which will fit over the handle. Instant streamside baby bed.
It works. Used it for all three of my gals.
Plan ahead, that makes sure you get to go!
She,
You have been blessed with the ULTIMATE miraculous opportunity!!!
DELIVER YOUR BABY AT THE 2006 MICHIGAN FISH-IN!!!..Perfect timing!! The child could be officially welcomed by none other than the Grand Poo-bah & Queen of Flyangling themselves! Jack Hise & I (Mike Flanagan) could turn our Jeep Cherokees into mobile “changing stations”! WOW! Are you & your Honey lucky, or what??
See you there!!
She Ties , Great to hear from you again , I thought we lost you or something . Congrats on the coming event . Man we just married you off and now this ! No wonder you are tired .
I have to echo Bill’s comment , Good god Tuber!!! will nothing stop you…?..LOL
Tuber I suspect She Ties will be staying up here in the land of free medical care for the happy event .
I’m sure that the Grande poo ba and Ladyfisher are able to do an on line blessing of the child when the time comes .
Hey folks…isn’t our goal to perpetuate our sport, our obsession, our passion??? What better way than introducing a beautiful newborn flyangler of the future at our NATIONAL Fish-In?
SheTies…I hope you realize I am just having fun here? In reality, there has NEVER been an angling experience to compare with the birth of your first child. However, that kid BETTER be at the Fish-In NEXT year! WITH or WITHOUT their parents!..Don’t worry, Jack & I are GREAT babysitters…and JC & LF will help!
Mike
I’ll chime in like everyone else and wish you the best. I will say in my life having children was the most rewarding undertaking I’ve ever done. Also the most work, most joy, most frustration and most love. Maybe 90% work and 10% pleasure with the pleasure being well worth all the efforts.
Won’t say I miss the 3:00AM wake up calls, but having that special quite time with only you and the baby are prety cool.
Thanks everyone! I am very excited about having a baby; and with a whole troop of fishing babysitters at that!
Hugs to you all.
Oh and Tuber, I would love to get down there sometime to meet some of the FAOL people, and you better believe I’ll take ya up on changing diapers, so remember that you offered.
