I tie mine beadhead without the legs. I use pearl translucent mylar for the shell case, peacock herl for the thorax and often I’ll use a copper john type body with goose biots for a tail. I just call them a flashback nymph.
Give Kevin a call, I’m sure he can fix you up.
The pattern is Shafer’s 3D Nymph, by Dave Shafer (former Northern California guide out of American River Fly Fishing). Good stonefly pattern, that I’ve had some luck with during steelhead season. I don’t have the recipe for the olive one handy, but for the black one:
Hook: TMC2457 #8-16
Bead: copper 5/32"-5/64" (will tie #10 w/ 1/8" bead)
Thread: black 6/0 or 8/0
Lead: .020-.010
Tail: dark brown goose biots
Carapace: black Thin Skin
Ribbing: fine copper wire
Abdomen: Sparkle Blend Black Gnat
Wingcase: turkey feather& pearlescent tinsel, epoxied
Thorax: peacock herl
Legs: small black rubber legs
I cannot find this pattern in size 14 black,if anyone can ties 18 ea of these please let me know.I can send a sample in olive to make sure we are on the same page,a stamp on a envelope will get the fly there.
