tlooze, in the words of the great Tom T. Hall:
Last night I dreamed that I passed from the scene
And I went to a place so sublime
The water was clear and tasted like beer
Then they turned it all into wine (awww)
I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow
I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow.
Whiskey?s too rough, champagne costs too much, and vodka puts my mouth in gear
This little refrain should help me explain
as a matter of fact I love beer
Jeff,…
imho, … I would tend to agree with your description …
I have this impression, … in some of the ads we see around, … the promoter is trying to say, … even if there are tons of anglers, … the fishing is still good

A Blue Ribbon Trout Stream must meet certain standards or criteria. It must be one of a specific areas best trout streams, be able to support excellent stocks of wild resident trout, have the physical characteristics to permit fly casting but be shallow enough to wade, produce diverse insect life and good fly hatches, have earned a reputation for providing an excellent (quality) trout fishing experience, and have excellent water quality.
Joe,
I totally agree. Especially with the word “Experience” you used.
… have earned a reputation for providing an excellent (quality) trout fishing experience, …
After all,… it’s NOT just catching fish, … it’s the sum of the parts that come together to make the day.
I mean, … I’ve seen some GREAT fishing for atlantics up on a certain river, …MONSTERS, … 25-30 lbs all of 'em. … Anglers were getting 5-10 hookups per day and limiting out over the week (7 salmon per year per angler up here). Then again, … they weren’t having fun.
The water was high and BLACK as tea, … the “guides” were mean an seemed to be “doing a favor” for the sports. … the “lodge” wasn’t “as advertised” and the locals almost spit on the guests.
Not my idea of Blue Ribbon
Thanx for summing up what we all seem to perceive as a qualified Blue Ribbon water.
