What I need to know about So. American Fly Fishing!?

Y’all have been GREAT with help on my Belize trip. Well, it is booked, going to El Pescador (sp) for 5 days of fishing and 2 of sight seeing. Broke the fishing up as 2 fish, one tour, 2 fish, one tour and one fish. My experience is that desk jockeys can wilt in the heat and humidity pretty quick after more than a couple of days.

Am taking, had to buy something new for trip like this, this going Bone fishing, a brand new Helios 8 wt, 9’, tip flex w/ the Battenkill reel in large arbor w/ 200 yds of 30# back and the RIO bone fish line.

How is it best to air travel with fly fishing equipment, always have driven, first time flying fly guy? What to take??? How to take it???

Thanks!

Regular luggage will work fine if you have a four piece rod.

I’ve flown CO and AA to Belize through DFW and Houston multiple times. Always carried rods/reels on board.

Thanks, that is what I needed. Another stuff to take? Cheaper there or here, flats boots, etc??? Thanks again.:stuck_out_tongue:

dont believe everything you read on the TSA or airlines web pages about what kind of fishing equipment is allowed on board. one cranky TSA agent or clerk can ruin your whole trip.

One tidbit you should know is that Belize is in Central America, not So. America. Check your tickets
