What grain line?

Hello all,
I have a 9’ TFO Ticr 9wt fly rod. Was wanting to buy a faster sinking line, but didn’t know what grain the rod/I could handle. I’ve got a sinking line. Can’t remember what it is but is getting worn out and would like to have something to get down deeper faster. Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you,
G

Hey Crash!
Are you going to be at the next MTFF meeting? I’ll have a fast sinking furled leader for you to try.

Try a 9 weight.

I might be. Depends on work…
thanks,
Gary

That rod casts well with 300 to 400 grain lines.

For an integrated line (24 to 32 ft sinking tip with intermediate or floating running line) something between 330 and 350 grains is an ideal match.

Take a look at the T-series, they all have a 24’ sink section. I have the T-200 on an 8wt. They rate the T-200 for 6-9wt at 5.5ips sink rate, the T-300 for 7-10wt at 6.5ips, and the T-400 for 9-14wt at 8ips.
